Wolfwalkers (2020) 🐺

Here comes another ANIMEnated movie, so hold your wolves because here I come with a pack of them and a little magic✨

Robyn Goodfellowe(left) and Bill Goodfellowe(right)

Let's start this story by talking about our main and of course favorite character, Robyn Goodfellowe. She is a beautiful English girl living in the mid-1600s with her father, Bill Goodfellowe. They came all the way from England to Ireland to hunt wolves but...What she found out in the actual woods is even greater. Her father's job is strictly assigned by the infamous but honorable to his duty, Lord Protector. Everything went upside down when she knew who really needed to be protected. A little bit of a SPOILER: it was not the village.

The wolfwalkers and their wolf spirits🐺
Mebh Óg MacTíre(up) and Moll MacTíre(down)

I truly like how in this movie we openly see religious characters such as the lord protector, who are so close-minded that didn't even realize this whole problem of hunting wolves and being hunted back was actually caused by themselves. The wolfwalkers possess the ability of healing (and that's something good for mankind). The journey for our sweet Robyn starts when she met Mebh, the wolfwalker kid, who's been by herself since her mother (Moll) mysteriously disappeared. Robyn figured out that the only thing she could do by then asked her father (the hunter) for help to get Mebh's mom back and then escape far from the villagers. In the movie, we behold how lovely our main character is by not letting her friends get hurt, she basically went against a whole army to protect them. It makes us sensitive about their feelings and that's why we kind of are submerged in the story. On the other hand, we have Mebh, a bold, vivacious, and feral (no offense) wolfwalker kid who needs her mom. She is rough but still a pup.

This is a movie based on Irish folklore and the way they sell the story is very likable for any age, so you don't need the excuse to watch it with kids around.

There is a lot to talk about here, but this time, I let the viewers guess what's next. But, what I really (really👀) love about this movie is that even if we are watching an animated one about fantasy, we still have that sense of realism in every character.
