News of the world (2020) 📰

     oh boy! (Read it with a cowboy accent) it is time for some drama, guns, and Western🤠 

     Let me start by saying how good this movie is: IT IS GOOD and let me give it the credit that it deserves with this post. I am not a big fan of western movies but this one is definitely one to watch. 

     Tom Hanks plays the role of a former officer named Jefferson Kyle Kidd, Kidd decided to bring the news from across The USA town to town. After serving as Captain and fighting in the American Civil War, the choice to get an American united was still an ideal to him so, therefore, he'd go town to town using the information as a tool to amend those awful feelings the war left behind five years ago.

 

She is Johanna Leonberger, a twice-over orphan and rebel kid🤟🏻

     

     On his way, he, unfortunately, bumped into a black freedman who's been executed by a radical group comprised of white folks. That situation led to an encounter between our main character and Johanna, a kid that only speaks Kiowa (a language spoken by the Kiowa tribe in the US). Johanna was kind of part of the Kiowa tribe (you have to know her background to get this), she was being transported back to her "actual family" by the black man after being kidnapped several years ago by a Kiowa family. With nowhere to go, Kidd made another decision. He will safely return the girl to her family.

    To get to her family, they have to jump on a long journey all the way to Castroville. SPOILER: They get there but the bond they made from day one was so pure that anything could set them apart. They went from fighting each other to fighting against three former soldiers who wanted to buy her (perhaps, they have their obscure reasons for the child). The sequence we see in each fighting scene felt pure and made us feel that we are in the Western world.

    The movie goes at a low pace but that doesn't make it less enjoyable. We see how the relationship between a kid who certainly needs a family and a man who certainly needs a child bond into pure love.
