dystopian
Upside down (2012)๐
OMG! I loved this movie. Guys, it is time to talk a little about love, sci-fi, and dystopian worlds (to be more precise, two worlds); this movie collides the three genres into one. It was such a joy to watch this movie.
Let us begin by explaining how this dystopian universe works. Two worlds are twinned, and each has its own atmosphere and natural laws. Gravity is different in each world pulling the things on them back to them (I guess?). In my opinion, this is actually one of the characteristics that make the movie ORIGINAL. It is mandatory to mention that this movie is based on how the relationship between Adam and Eden (our main characters here) grows and not on the actual fact they live in two different worlds.
Adam and Eden met when they were younger and develop a lovely relationship from then onwards, they are and were willing to keep this link, even though the doubled-gravitational force in both planets attracts them and the laws made by upper and lower governments hinder their relationship.
Since that day, they became lovers but they were roughly separated for 10 years by the police when they found out about the secret hideout on the highest mountains (two mountains that connect naturally the twin planets). Unfortunately, in the police pursuit Eden got hurt (it appears as though she has died), and later on, Adam's grandmother got arrested and killed. But she couldn't leave without giving Adam a secret recipe book his family held for many years and helped him later with anti-gravity material.
Look how beautiful this is๐
All this tragedy leads Adam to live on no matter how things went in the past until the day he saw Eden again on tv. He knew right away it was his chance to go and get her back. Knowing that she is still alive and that she works for Transworld (the company that serves as the link between the two planets), his goal will be to reach her by working for the company in the creation of a secret recipe anti-aging cream. Throughout the movie, we see how Adan managed to reach his lover and battle against the system. Just exactly, when we thought everything was lost, we receive a happy ending but...This movie could have been more than that. Besides, we'll see how the system grinds those on the lower planet down.
This is Transworld๐ผ
I mean, this film is the actual representation of society nowadays. We see how Adam is always on the lower planet meaning he is poor and less privileged and Eden is on the upper planet meaning she is rich and able to enjoy commodities. Conversely, we do not see much of that but it is quite noticeable. Besides, some physical laws were broken and some do not make any sense... but you know what? It does not matter because this is actually a visual modern-day parable and a reflection on how love can go against anything when it's real๐

It is beauty, it is unique, it is mesmerizing and it gets you dizzy(truly๐). I felt like this kid after watching it. See the movie and you'll find out what bees have to do with it.
