Castle in the sky (1986)🏯

There is nothing more wonderful than starting this journey and sharing the experiences I've had watching this marvelous and mystical movie.

Let us start: 天空の城ラピュタ (known as castle in the sky in English) is a movie about finding a young girl's truth named Sheeta and how she must avoid preeminent destruction. She is our main character here along with Pazu, an affable and protective young boy who's loyal to Sheeta.

It all begins with Sheeta escaping from pirates (yes, there are pirates in this movie🏴‍☠️) and allegedly from the government too. They are chasing after a very powerful amulet that she's been having before and after being kidnapped by them. This amulet (Aetherium crystal) keeps in it a massive power.

Sheeta falls off the airship where she is being kidnapped and fainted all the way down to the ground. Pazu realizes that the necklace of her is more than an amulet inherited from her grandmother. Pazu, her unconditional friend "saved" her from hitting the ground and getting hurt.

👀I quoted saved because, actually, the necklace did all the work, however, we eventually fall for Pazu, he is adorable💞. Just look at the way they smile together and how much chemistry they have. Besides, the moment I realize Pazu was "husband material" was when he grabbed Sheeta with both arms and lifted her up so she could see the sky island. I guarantee you will fall for each character and the way they express themselves, from Sheeta's kindness to Pazu's eargerness to protect.

The meeting leads to a wonderful adventure towards finding Laputa, the mystical castle that waits for our young adventurers and that's involved in Sheeta's background, and Muska, a man who holds a secret that makes him our main antagonist. As Sheeta and Pazu try to escape from their pursuers, they find out the pirates aren't the real enemies here, in fact, they become allies with conditions that fortunately end in nothing but a friendship.

"...no matter how great your technology might be, the world cannot live without love."
-Sheeta to Dola (The mother pirate)

Apart from all the romanticism and fantasy I saw in this movie, there is adventure, magic, robots, and corruption that kind of show why we human creatures deserve no power but the one we have already. Studio Ghibli always keeps it one hundred when it comes to fantasizing about alternative worlds that are not actually different from ours. This movie certainly takes you to a place you want to live FOR SURE.
